Saturday the 15th tentativelly we are looking at the Protest being at 1:30 pm on the steps of the Erie County Court House. Look here for more updates and a solidified schedule!
I HOPE YOU ARE ALL OUT GETTING READY TO EXERCISE OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH ON SATURDAY…THAT’S ONE RIGHT THEY CAN’T TAKE AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go for it buddy! Sock it to em!
Seems like so many people are protesting. I live in Utah and I guess a bunch (in the k’s) were protesting at the temple because of the LDS churches funding of prop 8. I’m not much of a protester (I’m too lazy) but looks like everyone is getting out there to fight for some rights!
Don’t forget to add all your events to the calendar on http://www.my-pig.com. Pa’s largest online business directory. It’s an awesome site and it’s growing in popularity. I check it all the time for local events. It’s totally dedicated to Pennsylvania.
Thanks Sammy, for letting me know about the nationwide protests. I went to the one in San Francisco. I was really happy to be a part of this important, historic event. I’ve posted a few pics from the SF rally: http://culturepress.wordpress.com/2008/11/16/san-francisco-prop-8-rally/
@romach Thanks we will/we did!!!!
@Aaron, I know it seems like we our community is grow and getting louder. I do hope you go out and support the gays and their right to marry. I hope all is well with you in Utah!
@culturepress…anytime. I am glad we both got to participate in the rallies. I think it was a pretty important step for our community. We need to let them know we will not stand by quietly and let our rights be taken away from us. We must be loud and we must be visiable!
Yes, this is a very important step. The ignorant half of this country believes that gay Americans have congregated only San Francisco (“Sodom/Gomorrah”) — they need to know that gay America is everywhere, and that people, straight or gay, in all 50 states are supporting gay rights. This isn’t just a San Francisco issue, or a CA issue, and this country needs to be aware of that!
I’m glad we were all able to bring our voices together last weekend, to show a sense of ’strength in numbers.’ It’s a great start…
P.S. This is a beautiful essay about prop 8, and it’s not what it seems from the title: http://reeva-dubois.blogspot.com/2008/11/prop-8-and-why-im-glad-it-passed.html
@culturepress….you are right it is a GREAT start for us. I can’t wait to pile the pressure on all those that want to take away our rights. I am also ready to rally our reps. in office and show them we are no longer going to stand by and wait. No more nice gays here! Thanks for the the blog addy it was a great post!
